Project overview

City Steel Corporation delivered a steel structure factory building for Axis Knitwear Ltd in Nayanpur, Gazipur. Our team handled the structural design, fabrication at our own factory in Hemayatpur, Savar, and on-site erection, so the client worked with one company from drawing to handover.

Our scope of work

• Structural design: steel frame design and shop drawings prepared by our engineering team.
• Fabrication: all steel members cut, welded and surface-treated at our Hemayatpur, Savar factory.
• Erection: delivery to site and installation by our own erection crew under a project engineer.

Why steel structure for garment and textile factories

Garment and textile units in Bangladesh need wide, column-free production floors, good natural light and fast construction so production can start early. A pre-engineered steel building (PEB) meets these needs: long clear spans give flexible line layouts, roof monitors and skylights improve daylight and ventilation, and the frame can be extended later when the factory grows. Steel buildings also go up much faster than RCC structures of the same size.
