How to Choose a Steel Structure Company in Bangladesh: A 10-Point Checklist

A steel building is a long-term investment. The company you choose decides its safety, finish and lifespan. Use this checklist when comparing steel structure companies in Bangladesh.

10-Point Checklist

1. In-house engineering team. Ask who designs the structure and which software they use. Qualified civil and structural engineers should prepare and check every drawing.
2. Own fabrication factory. A company with its own factory controls quality and timelines. Visit the factory if you can.
3. Completed projects you can see. Ask for a list of recent projects and visit one similar to yours.
4. Client references. Speak to two or three past clients about quality, timelines and after-sales support.
5. Material quality. Confirm the steel grade, roof sheet thickness and coating, and bolt grade in writing.
6. Design to code. The structure should be designed for local wind and earthquake loads as per BNBC.
7. Clear, itemised quotation. A good quotation lists steel weight, sheet area, accessories and exclusions. Be careful of prices that seem too low.
8. Safety on site. Ask about PPE, lifting equipment and the erection crew's experience.
9. Realistic schedule. The company should give a written timeline for design, fabrication and erection.
10. After-sales support. Check the warranty and how quickly they respond to issues after handover.
